Ogboju (pro bono)
Ogboju is an educational game that is currently in pre-production.
The information outlined in this page was last updated on June 17, 2023.
Mission Statement
“For young children who don’t have access to quality education, Ogboju is a 2D game containing puzzles that allow players to learn basic and fundamental concepts of mathematics. Unlike conventional educational games, ours blends the educational sequences with other types of gameplay, allowing players to learn while having fun.”
The project was brought to my attention in April 2023. The two people behind the original idea asked me to become part of the team as the sole Game Designer, Level Designer and Programmer. The game will be made in Unity, targeting low-end hardware.
The team’s current goal is to make a vertical slice.
Game Design
Given the scale of the project and the team’s composition, I chose to follow the Deliberate Game Design process to develop the vertical slice.
The team’s intention are to :
- Make an educational game that stands out thanks to its uniqueness and fun gameplay
- Help the target audience pass formal exams without formal training in mathematics
- Make use of procedurally generated elements in puzzles to maximize replayability

Ogboju is shaping up to be a 2D puzzle-adventure game.
The GD-3 phase started on June 17, 2023. I’m currently writing additional design documentation and making prototypes to de-risk some aspects of Ogboju’s design.
All documentation will be uploaded to this page once it’s approved. Check back soon!
